As the new year blossoms,
may the journey of your life

December

"I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December."
-   Oliver Herford, I Heard a Bird Sing

The Gift

Friendship is a priceless gift
That can't be bought or sold,
But its value is far greater
Than a mountain made of gold.

Fairy Houses

The sweet and tiny fairy house
Which the deepest woods disguises;
If you find it, please be kind,
And you may get some fairy surprises!

the traveling goes on and on

Life is a circle that starts at birth
Keeps on growing and spreading away
Searching it seems for some worth
Death being completion to our dismay

A circle can be a lonely thing
No ending on a path in the dark
Lost and endless the wandering
Where you're always alone and apart

Travelers Blanket

Circles
Surrounded by them,
You wonder which way
they actually turn.

You spin around
in a dizzy haze
Making life follow you
At each turn.

They have no beginning
And no end

Autumn Sighs

"The leaves are green, the nuts are brown,
They hang so high they won't come down.
Leave them alone till frosty weather,
Then they will all come down together."

Slowly

The Elephant is Slow to Mate

  by D. H. Lawrence
The elephant, the huge old beast,
     is slow to mate;
he finds a female, they show no haste
     they wait

for the sympathy in their vast shy hearts
     slowly, slowly to rouse
as they loiter along the river-beds
     and drink and browse

and dash in panic through the brake
     of forest with the herd,
and sleep in massive silence, and wake
     together, without a word.

So slowly the great hot elephant hearts
     grow full of desire,
and the great beasts mate in secret at last,
     hiding their fire.

Oldest they are and the wisest of beasts
     so they know at last
how to wait for the loneliest of feasts
     for the full repast.

They do not snatch, they do not tear;
     their massive blood
moves as the moon-tides, near, more near
     till they touch in flood.

With love

a present For a special person

after a long talk this little heart quilt

Love that is fragile as a butterfly
that lands in your palm
with a glittering of color
and with trust that you will care
Allowing them freedom
to spread wings in the air
When they are deperate for warmth
a heart staying open
Closing a fist
a soul will be broken
Caring enough
to keep hands open
 Waiting and watching
as love only can

The Second Hand Shop

Down in the grasses
Where the grasshoppers hop
And the katydids quarrel
And the flutter-moths flop --

Down in the grasses
Where the beetle goes "plop"
An old withered fairy
Keeps a second-hand shop.

She sells lost thimbles
For Fairy milk pails
And burnt-out matches
For fence posts and rails.

She sells stray marbles
To bowl on the green,
And bright scattered beads
For the crown of the queen.

Oh, Don't feel badly
Over things that you lose
Like spin tops or whistles
Or dolls buckled shoes;

They may be things that
Fairy folk can use:

For down in the grasses
Where the grasshoppers hop
A withered old fairy
Keeps a second-hand shop.

the middel piece of the quilt is ready
this al new to me
and it is a puzzle

I embroidered the dots
I just love to have embroidery in my quilts

To be entwined in your love

To be rocked in your arms

Hope

Hope is a strange invention --
A Patent of the Heart --
In unremitting action
Yet never wearing out --

Of this electric Adjunct
Not anything is known
But its unique momentum
Embellish all we own --

Weekendje Weg

Treasure

a wonderful ful day
a class with Susan Dahlberg.
at Afkes

If I could save time in a bottle,
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save everyday till eternity passes away

Just to spend them with you.
If I could make days last forever,
If words could make wishes come true,

I'd save everyday like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you.

Longing For Spring

Once a day and sometimes more
I look out my day dream door
To see if spring is out there yet
I'm really anxious, but mustn't fret.

I see the snow a melting down
and lots of mud and slush around
I know the grass will surely sprout
and birds and flowers will come about.

But why oh why does it take so long?
I'm sure the calendar can't be wrong.
Sunshine fills my heart with cheer
I wish that spring were really here.

Soon mother nature will sound the alarm
Wake up! get dressed, turn on your charm
Winter's gloom has gone its way
It's Spring! It's Spring! Oh Happy Day!

Take Time

Take the time to do some stitching
for the Alchemy class
It goes slow but it goes
