Then weave the fabric
It is very nice if you use ,vliesofix ,
the paper whit glue














cut out some pieces you can play as you like
try some things

make a sandwich and the sew whit the slik stish

the lines also take a lovely yarn and play whit the lines
make it you owne quilt play and have fun
and let me see the thing you made

Look a little quilt

It is Raining and I need some materials ,I found a new store about 20 min from my house

so I went to buy the things I needed and some fabric .

And when I got home I made this quilt It is 60-60 cm .

I like it ,,

It was very easy to do

I say it is easy and it is

you pic 2 collors for the middle piece and a collor for the background

The middle piece is 45-45 cm iron the 2 pieces on (vliesofix) that is the paper whit the glue

Than whit the cuttry rottor cut it in lines out of hand no strait lines

and weave the two pieces of fabric so you get one piece .

cut out some pieces from the side and let them live a live out side the squer

Play whit it and look at it make it your quilt

put it on the background fabric and make a sandwich .

now you can sew the lines whit the silk stitsh maybe you find a new way .

This postcard is for Francoise we are in on a swap she send me some lovely things and I made a postcard of it .I fergot to take a picture of the material she send me ,

but this is the result ,hand made paper i made in little pieces angelwire I burtn a bit and organza was punched on the embelisher I aranged it on the handdeyd cotton some FME and I added some beads

I hope she wil like it I liked doing it .

I made these cards yesterday on the embellisher

It is a very soft winter here and I long for spring

so here are more spring colors.

Grutte Pier Bente,s page

This is the start of Bente,s page ,the story

is on my blog it is about Grutte Pier

I dyed the fabrick and layerd it on silk that I dyed to ,the moon is angelina fiber ,

The univers is the background the moon the dark sky whit some lights of stars and the moon

and the sword of Grutte Pier this is stil in a museum here in Friesland

Grutte Pier is gone but his story and his sword are stil very alive .

The page is stil in progres but I like to let you see what it wil be .

cling wrap

For a course I have to make a art quilt and it hase to be transparant ,
Well that is not easy , But help is on it way,
Dianne let you see how you make ,cling wrap ,

I tryed it and I did not use many fabrick only merino wool so it is stil transparant
I cut it and layerd it on organza and (second picture )
it is just a try out I am working on it .

These ATC are made from material i got from Aecy

I never seen it before but it is handdeyd wool
on felt and some organza

There are 10 ladies and we are making 1 page for every lady over 10 months
so we and up whit 10 pages ,we hade to make the front cover first
and so we set the theme for the swap

Herringbone stitch

That is the first of many stitches I wil explore ,
The first sample is a little piece of fabric and I embrioderd just the herringbone stitch
I jused embriodery silk in diverent colors
















This picture let you see a diverent fabric it is felt , here I wil add more stitches ,
here is the herringbone stitch and next week there wil be an other stitch .

Bente her theme is a fairy taile ore a legend from your country ore around you home town

Statue of Grutte Pier in his hometown of Kimswerd
Pier Gerlofs Donia of Kimswerd (1480? - October 28, 1520) was a Frisian pirate and freedom fighter. He is most well known by his Frisian nickname "Grutte Pier" (in the old Frisian spelling "Greate Pier"), or by his Dutch aliases of "Grote Pier" and "Lange Pier". These nicknames all refer to his legendary size and strength. His life is for the most part shrouded in legends, but there is no doubt that he really existed.
He was a farmer in the West of Friesland at the beginning of the sixteenth century in the village of Kimswerd near the city of Harlingen. His village was plundered by a band of mercenaries in 1515 during a civil war between Schieringers and Vetkopers, the latter in favour of the Burgundian/Habsburg rule over the Low Countries, the others against. During the sacking of Kimswerd Pier's wife, Rintze Syrtsema, was allegedly raped and killed. For this reason Pier started a guerrilla war against the Burgundian party and allied himself with Charles of Egmond, Duke of Gelre (1492-1538) the foremost opponent of the Burgundian Duke Philip the Handsome (1494-1506) and after him his son Charles V (1515 - 1555).
Pier's armed band, known as the Arumer Zwarte Hoop (Arumer Black Heap, as in group/mass of), was mainly active against the Dutch and the Burgundians at sea where he captured many English and Dutch ships. In the biggest battle of his career, in 1515, he captured 28 Dutch ships, which earned him the nickname: the "Cross of the Dutchmen". He bestowed the title "King of the Frisians" on himself, though. In 1517 he landed an army in the Dutch province of Holland and sacked the towns of Medemblik and Alkmaar.
According to legend, Pier forced his captives to repeat a shibboleth to distinguish Frisians from Dutch and Low Germans:
Bûter, brea en griene tsiis: wa't dat net sizze ken, is gjin oprjochte Frys.
(Butter, rye-bread, and young cheese: whoever cannot say that is not a true Frisian.)
Despite his successes Pier could not turn the Burgundian/Habsburg tide and he retired disillusioned in 1519. He died peacefully in bed in the Frisian town of Sneek in the year 1520 on October 28.
After his death Pier grew into a hero of Frisian folklore and tales abound which relate of his superhuman strength. A great sword which quite possibly belonged to Pier is kept at the Frisian museum in Leeuwarden. It measures 2.12 meters in length and weighs over 6 kilograms. To have wielded such a weapon he must have been a man of unusual stature indeed.
In his hometown of Kimswerd a statue reminds people of the village's hero. The line of text on the foot of the statue simply reads "Grutte Pier

The cover was the first step to take ,I took the colors of the theme .

The back ground fabric I deyed a little time ago but it is perfect for the theme

I jused merino wol and felted it on the embellisher , I started FME but later I got into the hand embriodry

The proces is going on and I did some thing diverent ,,I never used paint in a quilt

but there must be a first time for everything ,,,

I think the background for more embriodery is good now

I used paint from dreamline I follow a workshop there ,

they sell wonderful paint for fabrick

old habit ! new habit?

This is new ,I started whit the charmes and Arlee opend a new group on Flickr 1 inch squared

I made little block,s 9, 1 inch fiber pieces ,I put them on black felt ,













This is an old habit knitting ,I made so many Hats, soks,jumpers, and all other things ,

and now I am knitting again for my granddauther Emily .
