Christmas full of thought,
thoughtfulness in giving things,
rather than the gift.

No Sleep

I cannot get to sleep tonight.
I toss and turn and flop.
I try to count some fluffy sheep
while o'er a fence they hop.
I try to think of pleasant dreams
of places really cool.
I don't know why I cannot sleep -

Spring in December

Birds sing springtime
Diminished in cold
Climate changing

My cat

my cat wants to know whose quilt this will be .

Herringbone stitch

All alone with my thoughts
stitching a rhythm of herringbone stitch

longing for spring

They say that spring is coming,

They tell me winter is through

I listen for the birds now

And dream of nightingales too

Yet still a chill comes over me

When will my heart feel like singing?

Though clouds today are winter gray

Could grass be green? Am I dreaming?

Who could say that spring is here?

It looks like snow late this evening

I’m longing for that morning

when winter will give way to spring…
