Late update

Two of my grandchildren were here for the weekend
Playing games telling stories  much activity
lots of fun ,
In the little time I had left I made 4 klosjes  

I also  had time to stitch some stitches on the Labyrint
finished the second sock for the doll  

here feet are warm ,,,,
The rest will come in time .

Saturday and not 1 klosje done this week ,,,
The Labyrinth needed attention

totally different than my first idea
I do that very often
Idea,s come and go

 there is the snowmen quilt
the same here the idea came in a flash
maybe next week on saturdayI have some klosjes done

working on the snowmen quilt this weekend
weaving and basting and this is the result
the quilt is 115 - 120 cm  and the intention is not to hang  it
but to use it as a warm quilt , snowmen to keep you warm ,

How a plan can change

Yesterday  when I was stitching the klosjes and a little embroidery on Labyrinth  ,,there is was,, The Idea for the snowmen quilt.

Weekend ,,,,,,,,,

this week 8 klosjes and today I cut 11 klosjes
hope to finish these 11 this weekend

It is very cold a great day to sit inside and stitch

   
There is also a sock to knit and a dress to make


The Labyrinth quilt needs more embroidery and stitching
My weekend is gone before I know it

Today

working on Labyrinth the quilt for the challenge with 4 girls Willy Sandra and a guest Tineke 
There is some time to finish we have a data in march .


For the quilt I used hand dyed fabric, scrim,Paint sticks,quilting by machine and embroidery
The Embroidery is not finished

Update

Saterday again ,the update for the klosjes quilt
It is a very old patron from Holland ,but according  to this comment from Karoda
,,,,that pattern was my great grandmother's favorite to make. love the contemporary colours.,,,,,
It seems it is from around the world
Thanks Karoda  for the lovely comment ,,,

I can see why,,,  you can use all the little old fabrics you have
and it turns out very nice
 for the record I have 50 klosjes at this moment

klosjes quilt

the bad thing about the klosjes quilt is the drawing of the klosjes
The sewing is fun sitting relaxed stitching by hand
I admire those that finished the quilt I am still not sure if I get there
 slowly going and thinking about a new quilt
and there are quilts I have to finish
never a doll moment

The pillow  is done now I can go on with the next project

Shortcoming

it is about ,,the princes and the pea,,
the quilt is 77cm by 145 cm
it is the last assignment for the C&G course
sometimes I have trouble finishing things
I always like to start new things

rainy day

it is grey and rainy day .
a great day to make it cosy inside
fresh flowers a pot of tea some cookies and of course
needles and threads.
No work today just enjoying this rainy day
the snow man quilt and the forest quilt  are at my side
to play with

  and my little friend is helping me
 always on my side telling me her little stories
and I understand
she loves these rainy days when I am just sitting there and stitch
so peaceful so relaxed

Addiction ?

I have an affliction
Or is it an addiction?
It really is hard to say.
I wake up each morning,
Sleepy and yawning,
Not ready to face the day.
All night I've thought of plans,
New patterns, designs and bands,
Until I have lost my way.
Each quilt I see
Looks good to me.
I'll make it, come what may.
The more I learn,
The more I yearn
To make a quilt that's gay.
With swatches galore
I still want more!
But somebody's got to pay!
Yes, it is an addiction,
Not an affliction,
And I know it is here to stay!

home alone

 home alone after , a lovely afternoon at the quiltkabinet 
meeting new people, that is always nice 
talking and drinking tea and of course some work done
I could not resist these beautiful fabrics so I took them home
maybe a quilt for my daugther she does not have one for herself

Jude gave me the advice just keep going

If you start quilting  your quilt comes alive
